Glory Be by Augusta Scattergood is a wonderful book about a spirited 11-year-old girl.
It's the summer that Glory's turning twelve. Everythings supposed to be great. But instead, Glory's beloved community pool closes, her sister has stopped spending time with her, instead she is secretly going out with some boy. Glory hopes the that the pool will open up in time for her birthday on the fourth of July. She's had her birthday party there every year. Things change, when a girl named Laura Lampert comes to town with her Mom, who is opening a Freedom Clinic. Glory likes Laura, but others do not. Her best friend Frankie stops playing with her, because his Daddy says that he's not to play with some "Yankee." Glory is up and determind to figure out what's going on and why. Set back in the 1960's this book was a wonderful work of historical fiction. Glory was a funny, strong and stubborn girl, that everyone will love.

Bookworm Problems: we have them sometimes.
Bookworm Problems:
#1: When you have so many books your shelves are overflowing.
#2: When your friends have more books than you.
#3: You just can't get enough reading time.
#4: The next book in the series won't be out for another year.
#5: a book character dies, you go into a sobbing fit for hours on end.
